•Neuropsychological Testing in the Development of an Organic Mental Disability Claim
8:05—8:55 a.m. (50 Minutes), presented by Dr. Robin J. Heinrichs
Dr. Heinrichs will discuss testing procedures used in determining diagnosis of and the severity of organic mental impairment.


•VA Disability for Beginners

Mr. Donahue will discuss VA Disability Programs and how to present a claim.

Mr. Morrow will discuss important disability cases from the 10th Circuit and the Kansas District Courts.

Michael Studtmann and Chris Garcia will discuss their own stories of failure and rescue by the programs they now help administer .

Redemption and Retirement to Avoid the Three D’s (Ethics)
12:45—1:35 p.m. (50 Minutes), presented Steve R. Smith and Calvin K. Williams
Mr. Smith will describe his journey from disbarment to reinstatement and continuing. Mr. Williams will discuss his experience as a KALAP board member and efforts to reach the attorney in trouble.

Disability Access: The ADA and the FHA
1:40—2:30 p.m. (50 Minutes), presented by David P. Calvert
Mr. Calvert will discuss the requirements and litigation strategies of the American with Disabilities Act and the Fair Housing Act.

Medical Development and Hearing Tips
2:45—3:35 p.m. (50 Minutes), presented by David Gray
Mr. Gray will discuss how to obtain expert opinion evidence and other medical development to support the disability claim. He will also provide tips to improve the hearing presentation.

ERISA for Beginners
3:40—4:30 p.m. (50 Minutes), presented by Donald N. Peterson, II
Mr. Peterson will discuss the pitfalls and obstacles in presenting a disability case under ERISA.
