Welcome and Introductions
1:00 – 1:10 p.m., Kellie E. Hogan, Moderator

Memories (part 1)
1:10 – 2:00 p.m. (50 Minutes, ethics), presented by Jack Scott McInteer

Jack will present actual cases on which he worked as an ethics investigator or disciplinary panel member and use those cases to illustrate the ethics rules involved. The cases he has worked on have involved dishonesty, drugs, alcohol, suicide, prostitution, murder, mental issues, sex, lies, vindictiveness, and may other human failings all of which involve legal ethics.*

* Jack says that as appropriate, the names and facts of the cases discussed will be altered to preserve confidentiality (and possibility inadvertently as a result of Jack’s advancing age).

Break 2:00 - 2:10 p.m.

Memories (part 2)
1:10 – 2:00 p.m. (50 Minutes, ethics), presented by Jack Scott McInteer

Jack has worked on ethics matters for over thirty years. During that time, he served as a panel member at 40 disciplinary hearings, investigated approximately 150 cases, and reviewed as a member of various committees, hundreds more claimed violations. He has also served on a number of special Kansas Supreme Court ethics committees and has been an author, editor or both on each edition of the Kansas Ethics Handbook. This hour will be a continuation of his experiences while working as an ethics investigator and disciplinary panel member .
