WBA is a voluntary membership organization. Approximately 90% of all practicing attorneys in the Sedgwick County area are members. The WBA currently has over 1,300 members. It is committed to serving its members by promoting professionalism, justice and respect for the law.

Committee Service Opportunities: Serving on a committee allows members to network with other attorneys with the same interests and practices, to stay up-to-date with changes in laws, and to provide service to the profession and the community. Committees meet regularly in the WBA's conference center, unless otherwise noted.

Conference Rooms: Conference rooms are available to WBA members at no charge, subject to availability. Simply call ahead to reserve a room for depositions, mediations, conferences, etc. To reserve a conference room, contact Ashley Watson at email@example.com.
Continuing Legal Education: WBA Continuing Legal Education seminars are more economical for WBA members and assist members in meeting their professional educational requirements. Handout materials may be purchased for a nominal fee. A Practical Skills seminar is offered to new lawyers annually at no charge.
Credit Card Processing: LawPay is the WBA’s preferred credit card processing company. LawPay provides attorneys with a simple, secure way to accept online credit card payments in their practice. Online Directory Search: A WBA pictorial membership directory, which is continually updated, is available to search members by practice area, member or firm’s name on the Wichita Bar Association’s website link at www.wichitabar.org.
Document Destruction Discount: The following document destruction company has agreed to give a discount to WBA members: Stericycle – 316/260-9446. Identify yourself as a WBA member and you will be eligible for a discount on services.
Family Event: The WBA Membership Committee plans an annual family event allowing members to enjoy time together with their families and colleagues.
Find a Lawyer Service: This service provides an opportunity for WBA members to grow their practices by opting to be listed on the WBA website, where members of the public can search for an attorney by the area of law that best describes their legal issue.
Insurance: As a member of the WBA, you can receive up to 30% in discounts on individual disability income insurance from Principal Financial Group.
Judges’ Day: Barbecue, golf tournaments, pool tournament, bike ride, tennis tournament, clay shoot and fun run are fall events creating opportunities for fun and collegiality.
Law Day/Awards Luncheon: This is an annual celebration in recognition of the importance of the rule of law and a time to honor WBA award recipients. A luncheon is held, in May, with tributes and award presentations to worthy WBA members. Additionally, attorneys speak to children in area schools to help them understand the legal process.
Mailing Labels: Membership mailing labels are available at a discount for WBA members.
Mentoring Program: This is an opportunity for experienced attorneys to share their skills, knowledge and connections with another attorney who desires to develop the same abilities. The goal of the program is to assist attorneys in attaining a high level of professionalism and competence in the legal profession and to experience networking opportunities. Monthly Luncheons: Monthly luncheons, with a variety of guest speakers, are held the second Tuesday of each month, from October through April. Election of new officers takes place at the March luncheon.
Newsletter: A $25.00 subscription to the monthly news magazine, the Bar-o-Meter, is provided to WBA members. It contains highlights of bar activities, articles on legal issues, interesting activities of colleagues and a calendar of bar events.

WBA Bar Show: The WBA presents a Bar Show when the KBA Annual Meeting is in Wichita and invites all WBA members to participate. Historically, the show is a musical political satire.
